Diversity & Belonging is the theme of the 5th IASSIDD Europe Congress in Athens, Greece, July 18-20, 2018. This theme is a celebration of human diversity, within spaces and places where we feel ‘at home’.

The International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSIDD) is an interdisciplinary scientific organisation, founded in 1964.
IASSIDD is a non-governmental member of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
IASSIDD promotes research and the exchange of information that will enhance the health and quality of life of people with disabilities and their families, and which will assist governments and service providers to develop policy and procedures based on scientific evidence.
IASSIDD has previously hosted a number of Asia Pacific Regional conferences: Taipei (2005) Singapore (2009), and Tokyo (2013).
Registration fees will be refunded (less a $US75 administrative fee) for cancellations received in writing no later than October 13th. After October 13th, registration fees are transferable but not refundable.

Asia-Pacific 3rd Regional Conference
August 22, 2013 – August 24, 2013The IASSIDD Asia-Pacific 3rd Regional Conference in Tokyo, Japan on August 22-24, 2013 will be held in conjunction with the 48th Annual Conference of the Japanese Association for the Study of Developmental Disabilities August 24 -25.

Participants in the upcoming international conference will represent a variety of fields, such as psychology, medicine, special education, and vocational rehabilitation. Methods of care or support for individuals with developmental disabilities can vary greatly depending on the participants’ specialty. Their interests may cover all the ages from infancy to late adulthood. Therefore, we have selected “Multiformity and diversity: Combining individual care and community-based supports” as the main theme of the conference. Expert ideas and opinions will be showcased in keynote lectures, symposia, and oral and poster presentations.

The Disability Support Worker conference is a one day conference designed to provide frontline workers with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that will enhance the quality of services to people with disabilities. Disability Support Workers play a critical role in quality services and supports for people with disabilities. The 2016 World Congress of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual Disability is an important opportunity for Disability Support Workers to have direct access to the leading experts in disability from across the world.
The Disability Worker Conference will address topics such as employment, health, challenging behaviour, aging, families and the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Delegates will primarily be frontline workers in a range of roles in disability services including accommodation, education, and employment.

We invite you to join us and participate in one of the more extraordinary events taking place in 2015. International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSIDD) and PacRim have created an action-filled week of opportunities to share and disseminate information and knowledge, network with friends and colleagues from around the globe, and attend workshops and institutes.
The 2015 IASSIDD Americas Regional Congress, "Inclusive Boundaries" will be held Thursday, May 21 and Friday, May 22 at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
These two days cap a week of opportunities, beginning Monday, May 18 with the Pacific Rim International Conference on Disability and Diversity, and continuing on Wednesday, May 20 with workshops sponsored by the IASSIDD Academy and Pac Rim. We hope you can join us Wednesday evening for a joint reception & dinner at the Honolulu Zoo. Attendees can get a reduced rate for registering for both conferences, or you may register only for the IASSIDD Congress.
